Cumberbatched: Top 20 Deals of the Year →
deareje: Parade’s End (BBC/HBO) 28 March, 2012 | By Andy Fry A cynic might suppose that Parade’s End, the BBC/HBO five-part mini-series based on a group of novels by Ford Madox Ford, is an attempt to jump on the Edwardian/WWI drama bandwagon ridden by Downton Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs, Titanic…

I just learned how to use iMovie. I know, I know…behind the times. But as a celebration, I’m uploading one of my favourite small and oft-overlooked funny moments from A Scandal In Belgravia. John’s punchline kills me. Martin Freeman, your deliveries are made of gold.

Watching BBC 2’s Arena documentary on William Golding. Benedict is reading passages from his novels. This man needs to record the audio version of every book ever. Just saying. ETA: They interviewed him to for Rites of Passage (Book One of the To The Ends of The Earth trilogy). I could also listen to him talk characters and literature all day.

The Greatest TV Drama of the Past 25 Years, Round... →
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in many ways still alive — not just in the numerous comics and books that have been spun from the show, but in fans’ hearts and minds, as well. Perhaps no character demonstrates this better than Spike. Played by James Marsters, he’s one of the best characters created for TV. He’s a vampire (picture Billy Idol with fangs) who was originally introduced as the “Big Bad”...

earwolf: If you haven’t seen the special sneak peak of the Comedy Bang! Bang! TV show on IFC, here it is! It stars Hot Saucerman, of course, and Reggie Watts with guest appearances by Adam Scott and Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber (Paul F. Thompkins with his cape!). I may be biased but I thought it looked amazing. Scott and crew did an awesome job. Heads up for Dr. Reginald Watts. Awesome!

David Edelstein's Review of 'Friends With Kids' →
sassafras-ash: The film’s revelation is Adam Scott, a second-banana comic best known for obnoxious squirts. Easing back on caricature but taking nothing off his fastball, he recalls the young Alan Alda, coming on glib and finishing vulnerable—much like this marvelous film. —NYMAG, March 9 Edelstein and I don’t always agree, but this review has made me need to make it to the Maple before I...

Amy Poehler said, “He’s like an Italian sports car. He’s pretty on the outside but really fun to drive when you get on the inside.” I don’t know what she meant by that, do you? Who’s more fun making out with Megan Fox or Amy Poehler?
